🔔 STRIKE UPDATE 📢
As we have promised to furnish you with a comprehensive update on the strike action.
It is not a rumor that a message was displayed on the mobile phone of many The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS) students on Thursday 17th of January, 2019; that TOPS has resumed. Reverse was the case when hundreds of students stormed the campus, expecting full academic activities, but did not witness any as a result of the on going strike.
Sequel to the strike update publish by the Institutions Press Council, findings revealed that the Unions ( ASUP, SSANIP & NASU) is still on STRIKE and the staffs currently on duty are Causal Staffs.
A meeting was held between the management and unions of institutions over the backlog of salary arrears yesterday afternoon. (Friday 18-01-19), it was gathered that the unions are yet to receive any positive response from the office of His Excellency Gov. Ajimobi, which is the cause of the current strike action in he Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS).
However, the action of the Unions show that they want the strike to be effective, yet don't want the system to be paralyzed. The unions are planning to Embark on a peaceful protest to the Governor's office very soon, since they haven't receive any positive response from His Excellency Gov. Ajimobi on how He plans to pay up the arrears, with a document it up.
So therefore, TOPS students are enjoined to visit the institution for academic activities which is to be rendered by the available staffs, pay their Tuition fee, other prescribed fees and get prepared for the forthcoming examination.
